Algarve Marinas

Algarve Marinas

There is an ancient and strong connection between man and sea, particlularly in the Algarve.  Colourfully painted boats and fishermen mending their nets is an iconic image of the region.  Vilamoura marina The Vilamoura marina was built in 1974 as part of an ambitious and extensive resort complex including golf courses, hotels and villas all set within a huge park. It is the largest in the Algarve with 825 berths for yachts and boats. The marina is home to some seriously impressive yachts and serves the Vale do Lobo - Quinta do Lago area as well as Vilamoura itself. As the focus of Vilamoura, the marina comes to life in the evenings, the large esplanade filled with restaurants, bars and shops. A casino sits at one end and beautiful beaches and trendy beach bars are only moments away. The marina has a number of facilities including a sailing school, boat tours and attracts international sailing competitions as well as classic car rallies.  Vilamoura marina...

There are 7 Euro banknotes: 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Euros. (The front and back of each note is the same for all countries using the Euro). There are 8 coins in the Euro currency: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents and 1 and 2 Euros. All coins have one side that is common to all countries with the Euro, whilst the other side differs from country to country – in Portugal one side of the Euro coins displays the royal seal of Dom Alfonso Henriques. Exchanging Currency in the AlgarveThere are plenty of cash machines all over the Algarve, identified with the 'MB' abbreviation, for Multibanco. You can use them the same as you would at home and you can draw up to 200€ per day. Charges for using your card abroad depend on your own bank so check before leaving.
